व्हाट्सएप ने एंड्रॉयड यूजर्स के लिए अपडेट में नया फीचर जोड़ा है। जिससे एंड्रॉयड यूजर अब डिलीटेड वीडियो और फोटो डाउनलोड कर सकेंगे। पहले यूजर्स को ये सुविधा नहीं मिलती थी।

व्हाट्सएप (WhatsApp) ने एंड्रॉयड वर्जन में नया फीचर जोड़ा है और कुछ बग फिक्स किए हैं। इससे पहले कंपनी ने टाइमस्टैम्प को हल किया था। अब इंस्टैंट मैसेजिंग एप ने नया फीचर दिया है, जिसमें यूजर डिलीटेड मीडिया फाइल्स को दोबारा डाउनलोड कर सकता है। इससे पहले यूजर अगर कोई फाइल स्मार्टफोन के स्पेसिफिक फोल्डर से डिलीट कर दे तो वह दोबार डाउनलोड नहीं हो सकती थी। लेकिन नए अपडेट के बाद यूजर इन फाइल को दोबारा डाउनलोड कर सकता है। WABetaInfo की रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक, व्हाट्सएप डिलीटेड मीडिया को दोबारा डाउनलोड करने का विकल्प मुहैया कराएगा। जिसके तहत यूजर फोटो, वीडियो, जीआईएफ, वाइस मैसेज और डॉक्यूमेंट सर्वर से दोबारा डाउनलोड कर सकता है। 

हालांकि इसका महत्ब ये नहीं है कि यूजर व्हाट्एसएप से डिलीट किए गए मीडिया को भी दोबारा डाउनलोड कर सकेगा। रिपोर्ट में कहा गया है कि ये फीचर हालिया अपडेट वर्जन 2.18.106 और 2.18.110 दिया गया है। बता दें कि व्हाट्सएप ने हाल में ही नंबर चेंज करने को लेकर भी बदलाव किया है। पहले नंबर बदलने पर ये अपनी कॉन्टैक्ट को नोटिफाई करनी की समस्या रहती थी, लेकिन जल्द ही आपको इस समस्या से मुक्ति मिल सकती है। व्हाट्सएप के लेटेस्ट एंड्रॉयड बीटा वर्जन एप, पर ये फीचर आ चुका है, जिसमें व्हाट्सएप नंबर चेंज करने पर खुद आपके कॉन्टैक्ट को नोटिफाई कर देगा। जल्द ही ये फीचर आईफोन व विंडोज फोन पर भी आ जाएगा। बता दें कि व्हाट्सएप ने हाल में ही क्यूआर स्टैन का नया फीचर जोड़ा है। 

वहीं आईफोन के व्हाट्सएप यूजर्स को नया अपडेट मिल रहा है। इस अपडेट में दो नए बदलाव नजर आ रहे हैं। अब आईफोन यूजर हाल में अपडेट किए गए स्टेट्स को आईफोन टूडे व्यू में देख सकेंगे। वहीं नए अपडेट में वाइस मैजेस फीचर को भी बेहतर किया गया है। अब वाइस मैसेज को दूसरे एप इस्तेमाल करते हुए भी सुन सकते हैं। मीडिया रिपोर्ट्स के मुताबिक नए बदलाव के लिए अपडेटेड वर्जन v.2.18.40 को डाउनलोड करना होगा। नया अपडेट आईओएस 7.0 और उससे ऊपर के वर्जन पर ही उपलब्ध है।

The feature was earlier unavailable as WhatsApp deleted the content from its servers once downloaded by a user. The option to re-download content has been enabled on version 2.18.113, and users can test the same. 

WhatsApp previously stored 'undownloaded' media content on its servers for 30 days and deleted it as soon as the user viewed it on their device. Once the user deleted that particular content from the WhatsApp folder on their device, there was no way to retrieve it. Addressing the issue, the latest update now allows a user to re-download content from the app. However, the feature only works for content that has been received in the past few months provided the user has only deleted the file and not the chat in the app. The feature currently only works on Android and not on iOS, possibly due to the way folder permissions are structured on the iPhone. 

Meanwhile, WhatsApp beta users may have noticed a bug affecting the timestamp of chats on their app on version 2.18.109. The first characters in the timestamp 'Yesterday' 'Today' are being replaced by their ASCII equivalent- '89esterday' '84oday'. While the bug does not seem to affect the operability of the app, users were quick to report the issue. WhatsApp, in response, has rolled out a patch in version 2.18.112 to fix the issue.

WhatsApp beta version 2.18.109, which rolled out to users on April 12, had the timestamp issue. The first character 'Y' in the timestamp 'Yesterday' was being replaced by its ASCII equivalent which is 89, resulting in '89esterday' to be displayed alongside the chats. Similarly, the 'T' in 'Today' was being replaced with 84, to result in '84oday'. Users were quick to spot the bug, and as a result, WhatsApp app rolled out a fix in version 2.18.112 on April 14
